Sole Fitness E95 Review
Sometimes you just have to make up your mind and decide to invest in a good workout machine if you want the best results. It’s no secret that the best ellipticals often cost more money, but that is usually for a good reason. Manufacturers tend to put more effort, time, and energy into making their pricier models so they can normally be relied upon to perform better and last longer. This is not always the case, however, so it is important that you really have a good look at any high-priced elliptical machine before you shell out the big bucks for one.
Luckily, I am here to help you see what’s “under the hood” and better determine if a machine is worth the price you will pay for it. The Sole Fitness E95 Elliptical Machine is one of these high- priced models that promises superior performance with a host of features that you won’t find on the average elliptical. Is it all that they promise or would you be able to get similar performance from a less expensive model? What do you actually get when you purchase the Sole Fitness E95? Read my detailed review below to find out more.
Fuller Body Workout
You may already know that an elliptical machine is great for giving you a full-body workout. Ellipticals work your lower body when you use the foot pedals, and your upper body when you use the moving handlebars. The Sole Fitness E95 takes the full-body workout up a notch by adding the ability to incline during your workouts. The E95 has the ability to incline up to 40 degrees, and currently there aren’t any other ellipticals that will offer such a steep incline ability. This will allow you to target more muscle groups, thereby giving you a better full-body workout than you would have if there was no incline option. The controls to adjust the incline are located on the handles of the machine for easy access and convenience during your workout.
Ellipticals are also well-known for their low-impact exercise. But here again, the Sole Fitness E95 has taken measures to further reduce any stress on the knees and ankles. The foot pedals on this elliptical were designed with the help of a physical therapist; they articulate to better fit your stride, reducing the occurrence of sore Achilles tendons and the dreaded numb-toe effect that people who use ellipticals sometimes experience. The articulating pedals on this machine make it one of the most comfortable ellipticals that you can find on the market, and the E95 is currently the only elliptical with this feature.
Modern Digital Console
As you would expect from an elite elliptical machine, the console on the E95 is not basic by any means. Yes it does have the functions of a basic monitor such as the ability to display your speed, time, and distance, but it also has many other functions as well. For one, it also has an integrated heart rate monitor in the stationary handlebars, and the unit comes with a chest strap as well for hands-free monitoring so you won’t have to put your hands on the handlebars every time you want to check your pulse.
There are 10 preset workout programs on the console for this elliptical, and some of them are designed to help you achieve your weight loss goals. Weight loss is a common reason many people exercise in the first place, so this feature is highly appreciated. Preset programs also help to keep your workouts challenging and more interesting as well.
The console on the Sole Fitness E95 has a blue backlight that makes it easier to see the data on display in less-than-perfect light conditions, and a port so you can plug in your MP3 device and listen to music while you work out. A cooling fan is also built into the console, as well as a water bottle holder for your convenience.
The Sole Fitness E95 is a well-built, gym-quality machine that was designed to give superior performance. It has a very natural movement and is powered by a quiet drive system that allows for forward as well as backward motion. Its high gear-ratio, combined with a very heavy 34 pound flywheel, enhances the smoothness of its operation. Generally speaking, the heavier a flywheel is, the smoother your pedaling will be, and considering that the average weight of a flywheel on comparable ellipticals is about 18 to 24 pounds, you can see why the E95 will give you a much smoother pedaling experience.
No Reading Rack
With all its tech and design features there is still nowhere on the Sole Fitness E95 for you to rest a book or your tablet so that you can read or watch something while you are working out. Obviously this doesn’t affect its performance, but having a reading rack is one of those little luxuries that I would expect to find on an elite elliptical; it was somewhat disappointing to find out that there isn’t one on this machine.
Another thing I didn’t like about this elliptical is its large size. It is over 200 pounds in weight and that could be a problem for apartment dwellers like myself who don’t have a lot of space for such a large and heavy machine. You should make sure that you have enough space to accommodate this machine before you make a purchase. There is no sense in getting this machine, no matter how awesome you may think it is, if it just won’t fit in your workout space. Also, if you do purchase the Sole Fitness E95 you’d better plan on using it as a stationary workout machine, as you won’t be able to move it away for storage easily.
Clearly this elliptical will deliver the superior performance that it promises. It has unmatched incline ability, foot pedal comfort, and arguably the smoothest operation in an elliptical that you can find. If you are looking for the best of the best in an elliptical machine, the Sole Fitness E95 could be just what will fit the bill. Is it worth the high price? I sure think so. You may not be able to read a book while you are working out on this trainer, but you can still watch TV and hear everything going on around you with its ultra quiet operation. And you will certainly be able to workup a sweat in comfort and style on this elite elliptical.
